I work full-time in Vancouver Island University’s Institute for Coastal Research(ICR) as both Program Manager and leading our Aquatic Foods research program. I am also Adjunct Faculty in VIU’s Geography Department. Prior to coming to VIU in 2010, I spent 10 years with WWF-Canada, first as Conservation Director and then as Acting VP, Pacific Region, developing broadly supported, science-based conservation solutions to support sustainable coastal communities in BC. I have been involved in resource management, community economic development, grantmaking and conservation in British Columbia for over 25 years. My expertise is in: rural and aboriginal community issues; external and government relations, research, and conservation policy development, planning and analysis. I have a Master of Arts Degree (2006) from Royal Roads University’s Environment and Management program. I also have a 17 year old son named Trevor.
