Intro to Marxan/MarZone & prioritizr – THIS COURSE IS NOW FULL
November 18 @ 9:00 am - November 21 @ 5:00 pm
This hands-on technical course is divided into two parts:
Part 1: during the first three days participants will gain the necessary knowledge and skills to use Marxan and MarZone (Marxan with Zones) for designing conservation areas and/or planning multiple uses in marine and terrestrial environments.
Part 2: during the last day participants will learn about prioritizr, and R package also used to solve conservation planning problems, and practice using a case study developed for British Columbia.
Participants can opt to register to all four days (Option A), the Marxan and MarZone course only (Option B), the prioritizr course only (Obtion C). The cost for each option is listed below:
• Option A: Four day course (Marxan, MarZone and prioritizr): CAN$775. For students, post-docs and NGOs the fee is CAN$625.
• Option B: Three day course (Marxan and MarZone only): CAN$675. For students, post-docs and NGOs the fee is CAN$525.
• Option C: One day course (prioritizr only): CAN$375. For students, post-docs and NGOs the fee is CAN$225.

Participants will need to bring their own computers. Software required for the course and other relevant information will be provided by course organizers at least 10 days before the course.
